Timeline of 'Se7en' Opening Credits- Charlotte Wilson

Timeline of 'Se7en' Opening Credits

Our task was to watch the film opening from the film 'Se7en' and screenshot and record every time a different piece of text appeared e.g.new persons name and record the times it appeared. We then put our information into a timeline where we could see clearly the time different between each piece of text, how it was displayed and what was displayed.
This is my timeline below-

From this we can clearly see that the text appears very closely together, we also see that more names are shown at once towards the end of the credits. I have learnt from this that the title of the film doesn't have to be at the start of an opening can be placed at any time during it as long as it fits in and looks right. I've also realised that the typography works with the film genre of horror which is very important, the images in the background of the text is also very effective, it keeps the viewer more interested as there's something going on in the background and isn't always just black. I have also learnt it is important to keep the viewer engaged and not become uninterested before the film even starts. From this I have a better understanding of opening credits, these skills I will be able to use on my own opening.
