Throughout editing all of our footage, we tried to split the editing evenly in order to all gain credit for the film opening.
The first part of editing that I carried out was putting in different clips of the black figure throughout the footage in order to make them look like flashbacks.
In this screenshot, you can see that there is a tiny part of this clip put in between the shot of the girl walking with the doll, we did this in this part of the film opening because it associates the black figure with the doll, suggesting that it's possessed which then portrays our theme of a psychological/supernatural horror.
We thought this would look effective because it looks like she's having flashbacks and it suggests that the black figure is on the girls mind at that time in the footage,.
I also put an effect on the shot which makes it flicker and slow down, creating more of a tense and eerie effect as it looks like there is something happening in the scene causing the camera to flicker.
