Storyboard Drafts:
The images below are the individual stages of the first draft of our story board.
We originally decided that it would be a good idea to have a our first shot in our film opening of part of the scenery which was of the trees in the woods. We thought this would be effective as it would show the viewer the type of location in the film opening, and also to show that the 'victim' in the opening would be in an isolated place to make her look more vulnerable.
When it came to filming our actual footage, we decided not to use a teddy bear but to use an old battered, broken doll, to add to the frightening effect as we didn't think that if we were to use a teddy bear it would look as scary to the viewer. However we did still have a high angle tracking shot of the doll in the girls hand to add a sense of superiority to the viewer but to also show the horrific features of the doll.
When filming we did have shots of the girl walking through the woods on a pathway, and also climbing through the broken fence however and walking more towards the bunker however these shots lasted slightly longer than 3 seconds.
We did end up using this shot, even after the shot of the girl who is Zoe walking through the woods holding the doll. This shot is meant to be a point of view tracking shot from the black figure watching Zoe walking across the woods.
This shot is also in order of how it was filmed, however we decided to change the position of the black figure to being in the background as we thought it looked more effective if the shot was mainly focussing on the black figure but then at the same time the audience could see the black figure behind her, watching her.
We didn't end up using this shot when filming as we couldn't make it look very effective, and we preferred the idea of Zoe going into the bunker to find the figure in there.
This is where our idea becomes completely different, we came to the conclusion that before filming we wouldn't be able to take a shot like this, as Zoe would have to hang from something to make it look like she is actually hanging, but we thought about it and there wasn't an effective way that this shot could have been achieved as well as that it would have been quite dangerous to perform a shot like this.
This is our final shot from our original story board, this is meant to be a sudden close up shot of the supernatural being's face jump into the camera however when it came to filming we came to the conclusion that this shot wouldn't look effective at all as using one of the person's in our groups faces' wouldn't look scary enough.
As we made so many changes to our film opening compared to what we had planned to film on our story board I decided to re-draft our story board to make it match the shots we actually used in the end.
