Our main inspiration for our black figure was from the supernatural horror film, 'The Woman In Black'. We chose to use this as our inspiration because the figure in this film gives off a huge eerie effect as it looks mysterious and the audience usually gets scared or think something is about to happen whenever they see them.
The veil over her face and the fact that they are very pale makes them appear to look dead, creating tension as it's like she's haunting the house and she has come back to life. Also, black represents death as it's commonly worn when people are mourning or attending funerals, which then also suggests that she may be dead and trying to possess the other actors in and throughout the film.In our film opening, we were unable to find a cheap black veil, however we found a black cloak which gave of just as good as an effect as it still appeared to be creepy.
