Deconstruction of Hotel opening credits - Georgia Serrecchia

Deconstruction of Hotel opening credits:

The opening credits for Hotel start of with telling the viewers which production company the programme is with, to fit in with the horror theme the text flickers and looks quite spooky.
This could give us an idea for our opening credits as the flickering of the text could be a way for us to make the video look more eerie and scary,

Throughout the opening credits, it continues to play different scenes through a keyhole and the colouring of this scene is very dark and eerie. The scenes played through the keyhole are usually quite scary and they appear after every other shot in the video.

This shot shows a man scrubbing blood off the walls, this represents death and it suggests that someone or something has died in the programme. I like the fact that the whole image is dark apart from the person's arm and the blood on the wall. This clip also appears recently throughout the opening credits.

After each couple of shots, the credits appear and just like the title, they flicker in order to give them a touch of horror and mystery. Also, the way that the credits are written, relates to the name of the programme as the text looks similar to signs that are sometimes outside on the front of the hotels.

This clip shows a scary looking man wearing a white robe laying on a sofa in one of the hotel rooms. The room looks very run down and the wallpaper is coming off the walls. The camera angle makes it more scary because it's a high angle shot which shows him looking up towards the camera and us looking down on him.

This clip shows the same image but through the keyhole, looking through the keyhole makes it look like a point of view shot as if the viewers are looking through it.
This screenshot shows a bruised women coming up through some ripped bed sheets in a hotel room which looks quite terrifying, her eyes are blood shot making her look more scary. This is also a high angle shot.

This is the final shot though the keyhole which is also a point of view shot making the shot more eerie. The lighting also makes the hot look mysetrious
