Mehrabi Ward, Practical Task - Typography

Practical Task - Typography:

Using all the information I found from the deconstruction I then went on to make my own film title and design it in my own way.

This is my own title that I have made, using Photoshop. From the information i found from my previous deconstruction on typography, I took into account all the similarities from the different film titles. I came up with my own title which is 'The Devil in the Woods'. Using the tools on photoshop I typed in the title, and used a couple of the ideas from the deconstruction, which was to space out the letters to make it stand out more, and write them all in capitals. From the deconstruction I also found that black and red were common colours used for typography. I took this into account and made all of the writing black apart from the word 'Devil'. This was because I wanted this to stand out more from the rest of the text as it would be more of a feature and strike the viewers attention more.
The screenshot above shows evidence I used photoshop to design the title.
The image above shows the finished title. I used Times New Roman, as a font, as it is serif, which is what most the titles were like from the example film titles. I am pleased with the outcome of this practical task as I think it matches the common features of a horror film title, yet I have adapted it to make it more of my own.
