Opening Credits of Murder House
The first thing which caught my eye was this image of a baby used, in the clip pictures of baby's were shown in a sepia effect, close ups and extreme close ups were used on the children's faces and on this picture in particularly the image change to an X-ray effect which I thought was really effective.
I then looked at some of the timings between the text appearing on the screen with the names of people, I saw from this the gaps vary sometimes they are quite close together and other times quite far apart depending what was being showed in-between them. This first screen shot was at 0.22 seconds and the second image at 0.29.

I really like this image of a child with the fire burning it, i thought the idea of children being used throughout it was very effective as one of the common representation of supernatural horrors is children in it either being possessed or playing a significant role with the spirit. In the first image
we are shown a close up the shot quickly zooms in to an extreme close up of the girls face being covered by the flame.
I then looked at the typography used throughout and the title, the font used links in with the genre of the programme which is horror we are also shown this by the title which says the word horror in it. Making the font used very effective and suitable for the genre. I also recorded the time of when the title appeared at 0.58 seconds showing use the title doesn't have to be used at the start but can be shown at the end of credits as well.
0.58
Within the credits there was a lot of images of jars shown, this first image of a long shot showing 4 jars is very effective the black background and lighting allows us to see an outlined image of something within the jar also making us to question what is in the jar, looking like an living creature. The mucky water also adds to the mise en scene that its all dirty, looking unpleasant horror usually not being very nice this conforms nicely.
The second image also shows a long shot but of many jars and equipment on the table, these shots usually cutted with the text appearing on the screen and would show close ups of some of the equipment on the table being in time with the music sometimes which was very effective.
