Mehrabi Ward, SE7EN Analysis

SE7EN ANALYSIS:

This is the opening image to the film opening itself, I like how the camera is focused on the middle of the book where the pages are turning over and there is somebody’s hand very blurred in the background. The type of font used for the production company as well is also very faded and small adding effect to the shot.

I like this shot during the opening credits because the way this has been shot they have only used part of the image and kept the corner of it black so you are able to fully see the writing. This image of the hands is also very unusual which and almost creepy making a thrilling effect to the viewer.

This is a shot of when the writing of the credits is first shown on the screen, I like how it glitches across the screen to create a broken effect. This also works well with the sound during this film opening as every so often the music sounds like a scream or a screech, and the scratches above the text in this screenshot mimic the screeching noises

I like this shot because it shows part of what (we assume to be the killer) is doing, in just the corner of the screen and the rest of the shot it completely black almost blocking out the identity of this person and making it more mysterious.

This shot is different from the other because it has two scenes of where this person is doing different things. The top one as been changed to red and black, and we associate red with blood making it more horrific for the viewer.
